Greek – Α, Γ, Δ, Η, Θ, Λ, Ξ, Σ.

What is an Alphabet?

An alphabet is a set of letters arranged in a fixed order that is used for a writing system. For example, the alphabet in the English language has 26 letters from A to Z. Each letter in the alphabet has a unique name and sound, and its placement in the alphabet is defined and constant. However, some languages have more than one alphabet. For example, the Japanese language has two alphabets: Kana and Kanji. 

Difference between letters and alphabets:-

● A language can have an endless number of letters while alphabet has a set number of letters.

● Letter is a basic part of writing and communication while the alphabet is a basic component of a language.

● Letter can be used to create acronyms and abbreviations while the alphabet is used to create words and sentences.

Conclusion:

Finally we can say that a letter is a single character used to represent a sound or combination of sounds in written language. In contrast, an alphabet is a full set of standardized symbols put in a certain sequence and used to form words and sentences. Letters can be written in a variety of styles and forms While the alphabets are conventional and have a fixed order.
